Posted by andre1 | Under Guitar Hero Tips Monday Nov 10, 2008I just got gh3 in October. I've only played it once [gh2] since last year and so decided to get it for my birthday in October. Ive passed the easy level, and just yesterday, I beat the medium level. So i tried slow ride onhard but failed. haha. Its the reason with the five fret buttons.
Anyone have any tips on where to put my fingers on which button and the movement of my hand? That's it. Thanks. =D
When I play on hard level I will move my whole hand down one fret when an orange comes up. So my firs finger is on yellow, second on red, and so forth. That way I don't get too screwed up when it goes back, I just move my hand back up. It takes a lot of practice, but you can get the hang of it. Pretty much the hard songs you don't have to hit orange too much in the beginning, so try to just hit it with your pinky and then move back to blue. Hope that helps.

and i'm not sure, because it is a different system than it was for gh2
and why not spend the extra $40 and get the wireless controller, and if the converter does work, you then have 2 controllers

Buy an X-Box 360 controller. Don't buy the wireless one though, it won't work. You can find them at stores like Game Crazy, EB Games, Software Etc., or even stores that have an electronic section.

GH guitars don’t work with Rockband. It was Rockband’s way of increasing equipment sales.
Not unless the 6th generation of guitars are finally supported. (Bundle GH2 and bundle GH3 are generation 3 & 4. Stand alone GH2 & 3 are Gen 5. World tour is gen 6).
